DATA PURPOSE:
To ensure the quality of healthcare for the physically active in the state of Delaware.

To advance the profession of Athletic Training through education and research.

To provide quality continuing education for the membership.

To safeguard and advance the interest of its membership.

Nomination Process:
  1. Candidates may include Certified Athletic Trainers, physicians, and other individuals who have a direct relationship with the Athletic Training profession in Delaware.
  2. Any certified DATA member may make nominations.
  3. Nominations should consist of a typed letter of recommendation including a brief summary of the nominee’s qualifications for the award.
  4. The Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson will forward to the nominee for completion a form that includes detailed biography information and other required criteria for the award. If the nominee is deceased, information will be acquired from reliable sources through the person submitting the nomination and the Hall of Fame Committee.
  5. The Hall of Fame Committee will review all nominations once all information has been received, and will submit names of the selected individuals to the DATA Executive Committee for final approval.
  6. The DATA Executive Committee can approve any exceptions to the nomination process.

Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of 15 years as a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association with at least 10 years being served in the state of Delaware.
  2. Outstanding contributions to the profession of Athletic Training in the state of Delaware, such as:
  3. Involvement in the DATA
  4. First State Games, Special Olympics, etc.
  5. Promotional activities in the community
  6. Presentations and public appearances
  7. Additional considerations:
  8. Involvement at the district (EATA) and national levels
  9. Research/educational accomplishments
  10. Honors and awards
  11. Citizenship: Candidates should display qualities that exemplify the highest standards in the profession of Athletic Training.
